Sand Iris Animation
Client: Personal Project
Objective: Animate iris into place with sand
Software: 3ds Max, TyFlow, V-Ray, After Effects
Process: Here, TyFlow was used to emit a ton of particles in the volume of the sand surface. A cylinder was scaled outward pushing and scattering the sand particles with some additional turbulent forces applied. Invisible spheres were emitted from the center and travel outward to dig grooves into the sand creating streaks in the iris. Rendered in 3ds Max and V-Ray. Comped in After Effects.
